Next thing you'll want is a source of extra surface movement. Filters will usually say how many gallons per hour they turn over so use that as an indicator. Your filter should turn over at least 10x the amount of water in your tank per hour. Filter cartridges are cheaper in the short term, but way more expensive in the long run so my advice would be to start with the sponges and bio media.
